Because Eight Mile Sno-Park provides access to so many areas it’s one of my favorite starting spots. Buck Lake, Sweet Grass, and Falls Creek Falls are the usual spots but you can also access Goat Peak and McCloud from here if you ride a little farther.

When we first visited Winthrop to snowmobile, we s

When we first visited Winthrop to snowmobile, we stayed in a little cabin on the Chewuch River at the River’s Edge Resort. We snowmobiled all day along wintery forest roads and then returned to our cabin in the evening and warmed ourselves in the hot tub. It’s one of the experiences that made my wife insist we keep coming back. And eventually, move here for good.

Today, I dropped off some business flyers for my new guided-snowmobiling business at the Resort and talked with the owner, Jody, who told me all about the many types of people who come to the valley to play in the snow. Teachers, business types, young adventurers, and families are among them. They come to play in the snow and have that mountain getaway experience.
